Evolution of Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM)

This Project aims at providing operational tools and procedures that ensure a balance between the demands of airspace users and the availability of the aeronautical infrastructure.

  • Optimize air traffic flow.
  • Reduce operational impacts caused by lack of airspace capacity.
  • Reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
  • Maintain required Safety levels.
  • Raise the participation rate of users and stakeholders in the Collaborative Decision-Making Process (CDM).

Expected Benefits

  • Reduced holding caused by ATC sector congestion.
  • Reduced holding generated by adverse weather conditions.
  • Reduction of delay rates.
  • Reduction in distances flown en-route.
  • Increased runway capacity.
  • Increased airport acceptance rate.
